The Keystone Apartments building on Delridge Ave SW is a large Seattle Green Factor project. The project is located on a Rapid Ride bus corridor and replaced a building that was formerly an auto shop. The project has one commercial space to compliment adjacent commercial uses, and is primarily a market rate housing development. The power lines created a front setback that was a great opportunity for a small outdoor space for residents to meet, wait, chat and watch the world go by. The mini-plaza features a biofiltration stormwater planters, street trees, durable shrubs, bike racks, and a permeable paving/conventional paving pattern up to the sidewalk. A resident roof deck features colorful sedum plantings with irrigation, perennial planters, tables, lounge seating and a BBQ. A great view of the Olympic mountains is framed by large existing neighborhood trees.
