Marion Green Townhomes
2015 PSRC VISION 2040 AWARD WINNER
The Marion Green Apartments feature a new concept in townhome development - the central deck over parking. This innovation in infill townhouse design created a communal space at the main level of 4 townhouses, instead of nothing but a canyon of parking below. Neiman Taber Architects developed and implemented the first example of this. The common deck features large planters with trees, and smaller planters to give a suggested zone for each family's outdoor table or play space, within the common space. Private rooftop decks also give another option for outdoor living, with a lovely view towards First Hill and the Seattle skyline.
The front of the building features a large stairway, flanked by trees and a large rainwater biofiltration planter. Ornamental plantings compliment the stormwater treatment planter.
